The two directors, Belgian Manu Riche and Iraqi Hayder Helo, trace the links of carbon combustion connecting people from Ukraine through western Europe to Iraq. The film starts with examining the First World War fueled by coal, continues with examining the rise of petrol from the 1960s to today, and concludes with a re-evaluation of Arab-European relations in the face of the current climate crisis.
