Not My City!

Iraqi-German filmmaker Murad Atchan explores the topics of migration, exclusion and socio-cultural ‘in-betweenness’ through the story of a group of artists having fled Iraq to settle in various European cities. Their diverging relations to their places of residence are explored through intimate conversation rather than interviews, giving room to divergence in experience, emotion and philosophical thinking, thus shedding new light on questions of identity and belonging, away from stereotypical narratives of migration.
